Some of my fondest childhood memories are of sleepovers with my best girlfriends. Staying up way too late, talking, playing pretend, doing crafts, watching movies…and eating all of the sweet treats! I wanted to recreate that magic for my daughter, Parker, so I styled the Sweet Slumber Party of her dreams for her and her close friends. Read on to see how I set it all up, and then don’t forget to check out my post on 6 Tips for Throwing a Successful Slumber Party to make sure you’ve got everything covered!

How to Set Up a Stylish Slumber Party
Decor for a Sweet Slumber Party for Girls
I started by setting the Slumber Party scene with some bold decor – silver mylar balloons above the mantle, declaring NO BOYS ALLOWED! Underneath, I created a pretty cloud mantle with poly-fil with warm string lights tucked in, and added sleepover decor from Oriental Trading.
Next, I set up a giant dreamy iridescent backdrop for the girls to take photos in front of – a great way to capture the memories of these fun times forever! Get the instructions for creating your own DIY Star, Moon, & Cloud Backdrop HERE.
I also added fun decor to the sleeping area in the form of decorated individual sleeping tents. How fun are they?! Not that I expected much sleeping to occur – but the girls loved having their own pretty and cozy spaces to lounge in throughout the evening. Slumber Party Activities
To keep the girls entertained, I provided a variety of activities. There was pillowcase decorating, dance parties, imaginative pretend play, a movie at the end of the night to wind down, and more.
But easily one of the favorite activities was a pampering station – filled with everything the girls needed to prettify their hair, nails, and skin. Talk about luxurious fun!
Slumber Party Sweets & Snacks
A slumber party isn’t a slumber party without sweets and snacks, right?! That’s why I set up a fun food station where the girls could pick their treats themselves throughout the night. From donuts to cookies to cereal snacks – they had it all, with milk to wash it all down, of course! Find out how to set up your own DIY Food Station HERE.
I also set up a low-to-the-ground table for the girls to sit at while they munched on their cookies and milk. I again used poly-fil to create a cloud table runner, with pastel pink candles and lavender star decor throughout. Iridescent star dessert plates were layered over pastel dinner plates and chargers, with additional slumber party themed decor on top to finish off the looks. Each girl also got an iridescent napkin, a pastel pink fork, and a mint paper cup complete with cute cookie from Trophy Baking.
