For the adults at the party, an elegant tablescape is a must. This is easy to do with a gorgeous runner made of faux greenery and blooms, accented by fresh clementines. I also added citrus candle holders I made by cutting out the tops of oranges for tea lights.
The place settings sat on natural woven placemats, and featured crisp white plates, rose gold cutlery, crystal clear wine glasses, and clementine-themed napkins. Each place also received a small blush pink favor box, embellished with a personalized clementine favor tag.
For the kids table, I used fun bright orange dinner plates and utensils, and clementine-themed dessert plates. For beverages, I used small lidded mason jars with polka dotted straws, and provided a water bottle at each seat with a customized clementine label. In addition to a citrus-slice shaped tray of cookies, the kids table got some fun clementine-themed first birthday party personalized paper fans. Finally, just for the kids…some citrus slime for entertainment!
The adults get some entertainment as well, of course…in the form of a DIY Sweet Mimosa Bar! Get details for how to set it up HERE.
One of the best parts of any birthday party is the dessert table full of sweet treats! I like to make my dessert tables a focal area of the party, so I decorated with a pretty balloon garland in the party color scheme, with some greenery added. Underneath, I hung a personalized Clementine-Themed First Birthday Party banner. In the center of the dessert table, I placed a simple and elegant cake adorned with blooms and clementines. On one side of the cake, I set a tower of clementines. On the other, pedestals of citrus cupcakes and mini cupcakes. Finally, in front of my other desserts, I set out white trays of cute clementine cookies.
The guest of honor gets their own cake, of course! I set the cutest little clementine cake on the birthday child’s high chair, and decorated it with a garland of greenery and fresh clementines for the wow factor as guests come in. These can be removed when it’s time for the cake smash!
