No matter how the season went in terms of wins and losses, celebrating the time spent as a team enjoying the fun of the sport is essential at the end of a kid’s sports season. This Volleyball Team Party is full of fun personalized details that will make all of the team members feel like MVPs. Read on to see how to set it up!
P.S. This setup would also work perfectly for a volleyball star’s birthday party!
How to Set up a Volleyball Team Party for the End of the Season
As an OTC blogger, I received compensation and/or products in exchange for my styling and crafting services. As always, all project ideas and any opinions expressed here are my own. For further information on our disclosure policy please check out our disclosure page.
Backdrop
First, set the scene with a sporty backdrop of sports lockers. I personalized each “locker” on this easy-to-hang plastic backdrop with the team members’ names and numbers that I cut out of vinyl (you could also easily use stickers!). Above these, I added firey volleyball cutouts and a “Bump, Set, Spike” garland.
Then, on either side of the locker backdrop I placed personalized banners – you can personalize them for the whole team or make one for each member of the team. They will love seeing their names, numbers, and even photos on the walls!
The last piece of the backdrop that was perfect for photos was a giant inflatable volleyball. How fun is that?!
Dessert & Award Table
In front of the backdrop, I set up the awards and dessert table. I covered a plain white table with a volleyball net, and added team trophies to dessert stands of various sizes to add some height and visual appeal. In the center of the table, I added a game-winning volleyball for all the team members to sign for the coach, elevated on a plant stand.
For desserts, I set up a volleyball cupcake stand and filled it with cupcakes topped with jumbo white gumballs that looked just like volleyballs. I added more of these gumballs and other white candies to pedestal jars on the table too for some extra treats. Don’t forget to add some volleyball team party dessert plates and napkins!
Table Setting
In the center of the table, I used another plant stand in our team color of blue to hold up a volleyball that I added florals to in order to serve as a beautiful and on-theme centerpiece.
Then, for each place setting, I used a blue plastic charger layered with a volleyball dinner plate, personalized thank-you lollipops, and black plastic flatware tied together with a silver whistle and award ribbon. Next to each plate I added a “Bump, Set, Spike” napkin, a volleyball paper fan, a personalized water bottle, and a clear favor container of candy to take home.
For another favor that doubled as a place card, I used mini inflatable beachballs that I added vinyl personalization to.
Finally, on each team member’s chair I added a DIY empowering tote bag I created with plain white totes and a vinyl design I created with my vinyl cutter.
