How to Create a Country Music Inspired Wedding
VIP Entrance
As guests walk in, they are greeted by a DIY Nashville Music Festival Inspired Seating Chart. This original chart idea gives each guest a “VIP Pass” to their assigned table. Right from the start, they will feel like they’ve been invited into a fun festival of a celebration! Get the details for how to create it HERE.
Next to the seating chart, I created a backdrop of music notes. There is no mistaking that the theme of this wedding is musical when the wall behind the cake looks like sheet music! I used a white lace tablecloth and a vintage country music album under the cake. Actual musical triangles provided a unique cake topper when paired with a beautiful coral peony, as well as decor around the rustic ring box I displayed on the table.
TIP: Use a bit of cling wrap between the topper and the actual cake. It’s a nearly invisible way to keep everything food safe!
Tuneful Tables
A rustic wood table with a white lace table runner makes the perfect base for a country music inspired table setting. For the center of the tables, I created a DIY Music Inspired Centerpiece with actual instruments and decorative items such as faux flowers, lace, and votive candles. Learn how to make these centerpieces HERE.
Next, I set out tiny western boot place card holders at each seat that I hand painted blue and coral. Then, I put white scalloped chargers at each place setting. On top of these, I layered silver edged dinner plates, plastic record decorations for a touch of music, and elegant white dessert plates. Silver cutlery tied together with bakers twine and a tiny guitar charm were placed on bright coral napkins in the center.
TIP: For an extra bit of musical fun, use personalized guitar picks to serve as place setting decor as well as functional favors guests can take home!
Guestbooks and Guitars
Before guests leave, make sure they stop by the guestbook table by making it inviting with a decorated guitar prop, and western hats hanging on the wall. I even used guitar shaped pens to really drive the theme home in this space! Other decorative elements included florals, an actual harmonica, some old country music cassette tapes, and more personalized guitar picks.
In addition, I printed out guest book instructions and country song lyrics to display around the area. You can get the free printables HERE.
TIP: A simple coat of paint can turn almost anything into coordinating decor, and make everything feel cohesive. I painted the guitar pens and portions of the harmonica blue to go with the theme.
Country Cocktail
Have you ever noticed how many country songs mention booze? It’s a lot. So of course your country music wedding has to have a creative cocktail! I set out a Nashville Slammer cocktail with a twist that has plenty of Southern Comfort. The cocktails were served on blue personalized napkins. Get the recipe for the Nashville Slammer HERE.
TIP: You can use the personalized guitar picks with a little twine as drink charms. Provide a permanent marker at the drink station for guests to write their initials on the back of the pick so they don’t lose their glass!
This Country Music Inspired Wedding is sure to strike a chord with guests. You can find all the additional details for how I created it on Fun365 at Oriental Trading. Everything you need to See It, Shop It and Make It with the click of a button!
