Easter is a holiday that provides the perfect canvas for creating magical moments that blend tradition with whimsy. This year, I embraced the spring season’s fresh energy by designing an Easter tea party that celebrated renewal and connection with florals, bunnies, and pretty pastels, while still keeping it intimate and traditional with a splash of tea party sophistication. Read on to see how I set it all up!
P.S. I got most of my supplies for this party at Oriental Trading. You can find many of them on my LTK post!
How to Plan an Easy Easter Tea Party
Bunny Backdrop
First, I set up a larger-than-life Easter bunny backdrop! I painted an arch backdrop pale pink, added spring florals with velvety pink tape. Then, in front of it, I set an Easter basket of spring florals on the ground next to a giant cardboard cutout of a sweet Easter bunny. To make her fit in a bit more to the elegant tea party theme, I dressed her up with a necklace of pearls with a white ribbon bow in the center.
The bunny creates the perfect photo opportunity for tea party guests!
Table Setting
I used a simple white table and added a gauzy lavender table runner down the middle. Then, I created two simple floral centerpieces using white tea pots with faux florals in them, elevated on white Easter-themed cake stands.
Moss-green bunny figurines on either side of the teapots added some fresh spring vibes to the table.
Next, I set up my place settings on top of pale blue, pink, and green fringe placemats.
For tableware, I used white floral dinner plates with gold edging, pale pink floral dessert plates with scalloped gold edging, and used matching floral napkins to wrap gold plastic utensils with white ribbon.
I added real vintage-style ceramic teacups and saucers to each place setting to hold the hot tea, and embellished each with a pretty ribbon bow in the handle.
For cold beverages, I gave each guest a pink translucent highball glass with a vintage look.
Opposite the cups, I set up two adorable favor boxes full of take-home treats – a vintage storybook box, and a floral and gold tea kettle box from the same collection as the tableware to tie it all together.
Finally, in the center of each place setting, I added a cupcake pedestal of pastel easter eggs.
Tea Cup Charcuterie
The floral tableware collection also has matching paper teacups and saucers, and I used these to give each guest charcuterie appetizers. Easter bunny food picks made the perfect toppers and helped to keep all of the fruits, veggies, meats and cheeses skewered together for easy eating.
Desserts & Décor
To the side of the table and backdrop, I used existing counter space and shelves to create an area for additional spring tea party decorations and desserts.
I used more dessert stands to elevate the cutest paper tea cup and tea kettle cutouts that matched the tableware.
I also used some matching honeycomb tea-themed centerpieces throughout, that each came with a lovely floral base.
For desserts, I served a variety of baked goods on a tiered trays, and mini Easter cakes.
For anyone who wanted their tea or snacks to go, I used a “Gather Together” matching floral tea cup holder to hold more disposable paper tea cups.
Finally, I sent everyone home with the cutest little tea kettle and floral bags of treats and favors.
And that’s it! With its pastel color palettes and vintage-inspired place settings, this Easter tea party creates a fun and fresh spring atmosphere your party guests will love.
