How to Throw the Sweetest Berry-Themed First Birthday Party
As an OTC blogger, I received compensation and/or products in exchange for my styling and crafting services. I also may receive a small commission for qualifying purchases made through OTC or Amazon. As always, all project ideas and any opinions expressed here are my own. For further information on our disclosure policy please check out our disclosure page.
Table Settings
First, I used a low picnic table for my main table and covered it with a red gingham table cover. I used fresh berries as a centerpiece, along with wood slice trays covered with tasty treats and berry-themed signs welcoming guests to the Berry First Birthday. Then, I layered berry-themed dessert plates over red plastic dinner plates. Each place setting also received a berry-themed napkin and a blueberry tumbler for drinks. Finally, I added a red watering can full of blooms for place cards (that double as take-home favors!).
For the little kid’s table, I used the cutest strawberry-shaped plates and strawberry cups, and added some fun favors for entertainment.
Dessert Table
Of course, the dessert table was the best part! So many fun berry-based treats. I served them in a variety of baskets, trays, and stands, and added a giant balloon-filled “BABY” block tower next to it. Underneath, I placed some take-home bags of extra treats for guests.
Drinks
Next, I set up the drink station. I used a farm stand, and hung “Berry Sweet” and berry shape garlands on top. Then, I set the scene with some fresh florals and rustic baskets. Drink dispensers were filled with two types of berry punch.
Favors
Next to the drink station, I set up a favor stand. Adorable berry baskets lined with red gingham held various berry-themed toys and bags of candy.
Photo Booth
Finally, I set up a special place for the guest of honor. I used a pink, green and red polka dot balloon garland, along with giant berry cutouts, to create a berry-licious backdrop over a red wire grid wall. In front of it, I set the high chair with a “ONE” berry bunting banner on it and added the smash cake over a berry table cloth (for when it inevitably got messy!). This cloth and the high chair can be removed after the cake smash, and the space transforms into the perfect guest photo booth.
