Will color blocking ever go out of style? I hope not, because I am a big fan of the simple and modern feel of this fashionable trend. While the trend is going strong, I decided to create a Color Blocked Wedding with a richer color palette and lots of texture – perfect for fall!
A signature component of color blocked style is the crisp lines between colors. I created this on my table by using alternating fabrics in this fall-inspired color palette of deep green, mint, blush & burgundy. The geometric candle holders, square cake, and hexagonal place cards add more bold lines to the mix.
The DIY Color Blocked Seating Chart I created even turned the wall into a striking piece of geometric art! Learn how I made it HERE.
To balance out the linear decor and add some softness to this space, I used lush velvet on my cake table. I also made a DIY Color Blocked Hoop Backdrop for behind the cake table. Made with textured yarn and displaying the word “love” in soft script letters, it’s the perfect way to make sure guests remember the reason for the celebration! You can create your own by finding the instructions HERE.
I also made sure the theme went from floor to ceiling by creating a DIY Color Blocked Ribbon Chandelier. This whimsical decoration was so easy to make using ribbon and floral elements in my fall colors of green, mint, blush and burgundy. Get the details HERE.
The contrasts of dark and light colors, and hard lines and soft edges will definitely make this Fall Color Blocked Wedding look contemporary and chic. I hope you enjoy all the DIY’s and ideas as much as I enjoyed creating them.
