The Cutest Koala Bear Birthday Party Ever!

I have to admit I have a huge soft spot for this little koala bear. My daughter Parker was born in Australia. A large portion of her first gifts were cuddly koala and kangaroo soft toys. She still adores them and loves to pretend to be a koala bear. She latches onto me just like a koala clinging to a tree. I can’t resist it or her!

This year (her first year living in Portland with new friends) I thought a party centered around her favorite bear would be perfect. She was thrilled telling her friends about Australia and showing them her koala moves. The put on the masks and ears I created and really got into it!

This Pastel Koala Birthday Party is super simple to pull together. You’ll love the pastels, polka dots and eucalyptus I used to create a balloon arch over the dessert table. Don’t think you can create the backdrop? Trust me you can – I thread balloons onto a length of fishing wire. I use a needle and pierce the balloon tie. Once the balloons are thread onto the fishing wire I use a low temp glue gun to fill small gaps with mini balloons, eucalyptus and bamboo leaves.

As a busy mom, I don’t always have time to bake and decorate my daughter’s cakes. This cake comes from the fabulous Confection Deception. She loved it.
