How to Set Up an Adorable Little Pumpkin First Birthday Party
As an OTC blogger, I received compensation and/or products in exchange for my styling and crafting services. As always, all project ideas and any opinions expressed here are my own. For further information on our disclosure policy please check out our disclosure page.
Dessert Table
I set my dessert table up under a bold balloon garland with white, orange, and turquoise balloons, and a personalized turquoise pumpkin truck wall hanging. The table was covered with brown paper and orange gingham fabric, and added a simple white cake, themed cookies, and candy in jars and stands around the table. I elevated the cake by placing the orange cake stand on top of a small hay bale. The final touch was pumpkin, floral, and truck decor to add to the rustic pumpkin patch feel.
To one side of the dessert table, I added a high chair decorated with white fringe and turquoise ribbon, underneath a “Lil Pumpkin” garland. The guest of honor gets a special small smash cake all to his/herself, set in another adorable turquoise pumpkin truck.
Kid’s Table
On the other side of the dessert table, I set up a small kid’s table. I used brown paper to create a table runner, and then added a turquoise truck tray in the center filled with fun fall favors. I layered round turquoise plates onto orange pumpkin-shaped plates, and provided each seat with a gold spoon and a cute pumpkin lidded cups with straws. The kids table was completed with snack boxes of popcorn, pumpkin cookies, and small pumpkin favor boxes tied with turquoise ribbon for kids to take home.
Adult’s Table
Finally, I set the adult’s table up. I used the same brown paper and orange gingham fabric from the dessert table as my runner. Then, I spread a variety of candles, pumpkins, eucalyptus leaves, and pampas grass down the center of the table. For my centerpiece, I added a “pumpkin patch” sign to a small hay bale, on which I added a hollowed out pumpkin filled with fall florals and a turquoise pumpkin truck.
The place settings included large round turquoise dinner plates with smaller pumpkin dessert plates on top, in a complementary reversal of the kid’s table settings. I tied gold cutlery together with orange gingham ribbon and a small pumpkin pompom. Each place also received an orange napkin, pumpkin cup with turquoise-striped straw, and a clear plastic wine glass. Finally, I gave each guest a brown paper favor box tied with turquoise ribbon and stamped with an orange pumpkin.
