Jack-o'-Lantern Themed Halloween Kid's Party

There is nothing more traditionally Halloween than the Jack-o’-Lantern! With its not-so-scary carved smiling face and perfectly Halloween black and orange color scheme, it makes the ideal Halloween party theme for kids. Read on to see how I styled my Jack-o’-Lantern Themed Halloween Kid’s Party.

How to Set up a Jack-o’-Lantern Themed Halloween Kids Party

Balloon Backdrop & Dessert/Snack Table

First, I made a giant black, orange, and white balloon garland to set the party scene. I added jack-o’-lantern balloons with faces, as well as a few large black and white striped balloons for more dimension. Then, I hung an orange and black “Trick or Treat” garland above the dessert table.

On the dessert & snack table, I used clear acrylic stands filled with pumpkin stress balls to elevate my desserts. These included a grinning jack-o’-lantern cake and cupcakes with jack-o’-lantern toppers. To each side, I placed a jack-o-lantern candle and a few black and white striped favor boxes filled with treats for guests to take home with them. At the front of the table, I put cute jack-o’-lantern cups full of popcorn on top of black and white striped napkins, with two foam pumpkins filling up the rest of the space on the table.

Next, I set up my dining table and place settings. I used a white table, and placed a black and white striped table runner down the center. I used a light up Jack-o’-Lantern centerpiece, with black and white striped taper candles and a few more jack-o’-lantern candles on either side of it. My place settings consisted of black chargers with jack-o’-lantern plates on top, black and white striped napkins, gold plastic cutlery, and plastic jack-o’-lantern cups with black and white striped straws. I scattered some fun jack-o’-lantern favors around the table for entertainment.

Favor Station

Speaking of favors, I also set up a fun favor station by using a black grid panel to hang some jack-o’-lantern fans and necklaces. In front of it, I set up a white rolling cart filled with all sorts of jack-o’-lantern themed goodies for guests to grab. I provided jack-o’-lantern trick-or-treat buckets to fill with favors.

Photo Booth

Finally, I set up an area to serve as a giant jack-o’-lantern pumpkin patch photo booth! I used a pumpkin patch backdrop on the wall, with large cardboard jack-o’-lantern cutouts and a couple light up pumpkins in front. The perfect place to pose with a pumpkin!
