How to Set Up a Haunted Dollhouse Halloween Craft Party for Kids
Balloon and Fringe Backdrop
First, I created a pink, black and white balloon garland, embellished with lavender and clear bat balloons, “Hocus Pocus” balloons, cute witch balloons, and mylar ghost, witch, and witch hat balloons.
Underneath the balloon garland, I hung a black, pink, and white fringe backdrop, with “trick-or-treat” and black star garlands strung on top.
Decoration Station
In front of the balloon garland and fringe backdrop, I set up a white table to serve as my “decoration station”.
On one side, I added some cute witchy decorations – an “I put a spell on you” frame, “Potions and Poisons” faux book, potion bottle, and floral-filled skull. I also placed some Hocus Pocus temporary tattoos to the table for a fun party activity or favor.
In the center of the table, I used a graveyard tray to hold a variety of haunted dollhouse decorations – ghostly trees, pumpkins, skeletons, gravestones, and more!
On the other side of the table I placed cute witch bags for the kids to use to gather their supplies from the decoration station. Finally, I added a sparkly pink plush spider and another potion bottle to finish off the décor.
Table Setting
In the center of the main table, I set up a large purple cat figurine on a black stand to oversee the all the haunted dollhouse decorating.
To each side of the Halloween cat centerpiece, I set up three mini cauldrons of additional decorations, including spider’s web, black paper shreds, ripped mummy’s gauze, and a couple of colors of dried moss.
Then, I set the undecorated dollhouses and clear coffin containers of decorations on wood slices next to each place setting on the table.
The dollhouses I used were simple containers from the dollar store that I spray painted black in advance.
The clear coffins contained stickers, pipe cleaners, and some mini furniture for the inside of the haunted dollhouses.
Place Settings
For food and drinks, I layered lavender checkered dinner plates with witch-hat shaped dessert plates on top of starry black placemats.
Each place setting also received black plastic flatware, two napkins, a “boo” straw, and a cauldron-shaped drink cup.
The cups had a quote from “Hocus Pocus” on them for more witchy fun.
The napkins featured a black and white diamond pattern on one, and a haunted house and the phrase, “If you’ve got it, haunt it!” on another.
In front of each place setting, I included black cat place cards that I personalized with each guest’s name.
Decorate and Fill!
Once everything is set up, it’s time to decorate and fill the haunted dollhouses! It’s so fun to see kids let their imaginations run wild.
With their haunted dollhouses complete, the kids will leave the party with spooky keepsakes and memories of a Halloween craft adventure full of creativity and fun!
Hope your haunted dollhouse Halloween craft party is a spooky success!
