4 – Backpack
This backpack makes the ideal gift to hold all the essentials for a 4th of July parade! I used plain blue backpacks, and added iron-on USA letter patches to one side. Then I filled them up with everything you’d need for an outdoor party or parade!
Here’s what I filled mine with:
- headbands
- light-up bracelets for the evening
- flags for waving
- necklaces

5 – Patriotic Pouch
If a backpack is too big, why not create a small patriotic pouch of parade or party essentials? This little bag would also be perfect for an Independence Day concert or festival, particularly if it requires transparent bags. You could even attach ribbon or cord to it to turn it into a wristlet! I added red adhesive USA letter patches and filled it with some fun red, white, and blue wearables and candy. Then, I attached an adorable red sneaker keychain for the final touch.
Here’s what I included in mine:
- patriotic socks
- star-spangled cowboy hat clip
- red, white, and blue striped heart sunglasses
- blue mascara
- silicone rings
- gum
- candy

A red or blue bucket is another great option as a gift container. This multi-purpose item can be kept for use at the beach, later! I added names to my gift buckets using vinyl, but you could also use letter stickers to easily personalize them. Then, fill them up with fun Independence Day goodies!
Here’s what I packed mine with:
- rings
- bracelets
- light-up wrist bands
- tattoos
- necklaces
- sunglasses
- hat
- flag fan

8 – Independence Day Parade Bucket for Adults
While adults would also love many of the items I used in the kids parade party buckets, I wanted to create a version that included a few more items exclusively for adults – some drinking essentials! The bucket itself can even double as an ice bucket for drinks.
Here’s what I added to the adult version:
- patriotic adult aviator sunglasses
- red, white, and blue can sleeves
- star-embellished refillable drink pouches
- a patriotic star yard glass

9 – Personalized Pin Lanyard
A few years ago I set up a huge 4th of July Block Party for my neighborhood, complete with a patriotic pin-trading station. It was a huge hit! To hold all the pins, I made these cute American lanyards. They’re so easy to create and make easy Independence Day gifts or party favors. You can get all of the details for how to make the pin station and the lanyards HERE.
10 – Merch Stand
If you want to go ALL OUT with 4th of July gifts this year, why not set up a red, white, and blue Merch Stand?! This was also part of my Patriotic Block Party, but it would be a fun addition to any Independence Day celebration. Give Guests a personalized bucket and let them choose from a variety of USA-themed gifts and candy!
