Who doesn’t love the glitz and glam of the disco era? The mirrored shine of a disco ball just oozes fun and joy, and is perfect for celebrating. These four disco inspired table settings can be used for wedding receptions, or any sort of party. Use these ideas to plan ahead for a wedding or party you have coming up, or even use them as inspiration for a backdrop for your virtual celebrations right now!
I used the same metallic fringe backdrop for each of the table settings. I created this by combining iridescent and silver fringe curtains, and cutting one into a triangular shape. Then, I set about creating each of the four disco-tastic looks.

Disco Wedding Decor, Four Ways
Romantic
First, I set up a romantic disco table in a soft pink color scheme. I draped delicate pink fabric over the center of the table to create a table runner. Then, I created my own centerpiece by cutting the top off a disco ball (they are hollow inside!) and filling it with a pink floral arrangement before placing it on top of a clear cylindrical vase filled with iridescent shreds to give it height. Additional mini pink and silver disco balls and iridescent votive candle holders down the center of the table help to create a warm and romantic vibe.
Next, I set out large round mirrors as chargers for my place settings. I used pink adhesive vinyl to create a message on the mirrors: “Follow the call of the Disco Ball”. Then, I layered on a light pink dessert plate and iridescent pink bowl. Next to the chargers, I placed iridescent polka dotted wine glasses with disco ball swizzle sticks. Silver cutlery and white napkins completed the look.
TIP: Add a couple of mini disco balls inside the bowl for fun place setting decor.
Edgy
For this Studio 54-inspired look, I added a black fringe layer to the backdrop, in a smaller triangular shape. I kept the blush fabric table runner, but only used the silver mini disco balls throughout. Then, for more drama, I created a tall centerpiece with a large arrangement of greenery, florals and disco balls on top.
The place settings utilized the same iridescent bowls with silver mini disco balls in them. However, for an edgier look, they were placed on top of deep black chargers and geometric metallic black and silver dinner plates. I used the same silver cutlery and polka dotted wine glasses, but switched out the white napkins for iridescent ones.
TIP: Hidden zip ties and bamboo skewers are great tools to secure your greenery, florals, and disco balls to your centerpiece!
Iridescent
Next, I went all in on the iridescence! Shine is the name of the game here. I removed the table runner and added a silver sequined tablecloth instead. Then, I added the mini silver disco balls and iridescent votive candle holders back in along the center of the table. The centerpiece for this look was a geometric silver vase with painted palm leaves, a few florals, and an array of disco balls that looked like they were spilling from the vase. Above the table, I hung an iridescent chandelier for more dazzle.
These place settings had crisp white square chargers, the iridescent napkins, and rectangular white and iridescent dinner plates. I added name tags to mini disco balls and placed these in the center, and then used the same silver cutlery. In addition to the polka dotted wine glasses, for this look I used a champagne flute with an iridescent drink umbrella in it.
TIP: Creating perpendicular angles with these place settings really adds to the modern geometric feel of this look.
Colorful
Finally, I snazzed it all up with some color. I accomplished this by spray painting disco balls on the table and in the centerpiece in colors that come through in the iridescent napkins – pink, purple, and yellow.

These are all so fun and unique! I think I like the “edgy” one best with the floating flower arrangement. Such a cool theme. Gotta get a few real disco balls for our next dance party.

Hi! I love the arrangements with the greenery and the disco balls. Where did you find the metal risers that they sit on?

Hi Natlie, love these arrangements! Doing something similar for an event and curious what you used for the tall arrangement with the greenery? Floral foam block? Thanks and great work!!
Natalie Mayhew says
My apologies for the delayed response. I missed this comment. I did not use foam. I prearranged, tied and inserted into vase. thanks
