An Easter basket isn’t truly an Easter basket without a chocolate bunny in it, right? They were always my favorite Easter treat growing up, and I love getting to surprise my kids with them now in their Easter baskets. And because you know I just love going over the top now and then, this year I decided to style an entire Easter party inspired by the tasty treat! With pretty pastels, fun DIY decor, and a healthy dose of humor, this Chocolate Bunny Easter Celebration is sure to be a hit for kids and adults alike. Read on to see how I set it up!
Bunny Backdrop
I set a scene that any bunny would love by hanging large pastel daisy paper fans on my wall. In the center of the flowers, I hung a bunny shaped sign I painted brown and added humorous text to: “Happy Easter…Bad time to be made of chocolate!”.
Then, the star of the whole show- a giant chocolate bunny cardboard stand up – was placed in front of the backdrop next to the decor table. I added a bit of extra flair to it with a pretty pink ribbon around its neck. Easy to take photos with…difficult to not want to try to eat.
Chocolate Bunny Decor & DIY Favors
In front of the backdrop, I set up a table with tons more chocolate bunny decor. I used a variety of glass jars and containers to display chocolate bunnies surrounded by pastel eggs and easter grass. Using stands of different shapes and sizes helped to create dimension on the table, and a few pastel carrots added some more color. I also used this table to hold the DIY Chocolate Bunny Jar Favors I created for each guest. You can get the instructions for how to create them yourself HERE.
On the other side of the table, I set up an acrylic stand filled with pastel balloons. On top of it, I set out a basket filled with Easter grass and chocolate bunny squishy favors that are actually chocolate scented!
Table Setting & DIY Centerpiece
For my main table, I used colorful Easter grass to create a simple runner, and then created a cute Chocolate Bunny Centerpiece with painted wood cutouts to match the design on the hilarious Chocolate Bunny shirt my daughter Parker was wearing, and a lounging chocolate bunny in a basket. You can get all of the details for how to create the centerpiece HERE.
Pastel Place Settings
I used pretty pastel colored square plates and napkins for my place settings. I then set out gold plastic utensils tied together with glittery foam carrots. The gold in the utensils perfectly complemented the gold edges and polka dots in the plates and napkins! Each place setting also got a berry basket of Easter treats and an actual chocolate bunny with a straw to use for drinks!
