A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…(by which I mean recently and very much in this galaxy…) I styled the cutest Star Wars Baby Shower using fabulous products from Oriental Trading. Star Wars is one of those franchises that feels like it is always popular, and this year is no different.
The trend is going strong with the release of the newest movie, and the popular television series The Mandalorian. If you’re a fan and would like to introduce the future Jedi in your life to the exciting world of Star Wars before they even leave the womb, read on to find out how to put this shower together yourself!
Enter the Force
First, set the scene with a DIY Star Wars Baby Shower Sign. With the classic Star Wars font and phrase, combined with an adorable onesie cutout, guests will have no problem discerning the theme of this intergalactic party. If you were feeling extra crafty, you could even make it double-sided and flip it to say “May the force be with you” as guests leave! Find out how to create your own HERE.
Interplanetary Table Settings
I went with a blue, black, and silver color scheme for the perfect galaxy vibe. To make my table stand out and feel like a starry space sky, I used a sparkling blue sequin table cover. Then, in the center, I added another cute Star Wars onesie cutout, and two silver painted stars on each side.
The place settings utilized black hexagonal plates with iridescent silver dessert plates on top that really popped against their dark backgrounds. Silver polka dots on white napkins resembled moon craters. To match that, I used silver flatware and clear plastic wine glasses.
Finally, at each place setting, I set out a fabric star filled with treats as favors, and a fun DIY Moon Vase that doubled as a place card. Find out how to make your own moon vase place cards HERE.
Droids and Desserts
The dessert table is a great place to really go all out with the theme. My favorite part of styling this party was creating the balloon backdrop. Not only is the giant arch in the party color scheme (with some extra pops of Yoda green in there) an eye catcher, but Oriental Trading also has life-sized character balloons that I used to really make guests feel like they were part of the movies. Letter balloons can be used to say whatever you’d like, and I thought “Baby Jedi” was the perfect phrase for the occasion.
A coordinating but not matching silver sequin tablecloth, more painted stars, and one of the DIY Moon Vases tied the room together. Using light sabers and other Star Wars props to frame the starry cake really made it stand out. Finally, I made an adorable DIY Baby Yoda Diaper Cake.
If you’ve been on the internet at all in the last couple months, you know that everyone’s favorite meme-able character from The Mandalorian is Baby Yoda. And he fits in just perfectly with our baby shower theme! Learn how to make him into a Diaper Cake HERE.
Of course for fans of the dark side….
You won’t have to use Jedi mind tricks to get guests to enjoy this Baby Jedi Star Wars Shower. You can get all of the additional details for how I created it on Fun365 at Oriental Trading. Everything you need to See It, Shop It and Make It with the click of a button!
