How to Set up a Martial Arts Themed Kid’s Party
As an OTC blogger, I received compensation and/or products in exchange for my styling and crafting services. As always, all project ideas and any opinions expressed here are my own. For further information on our disclosure policy please check out our disclosure page.
Table Setting
First, I started with a low white table as my base and added floor pillows for seating. Then, in the center of the table, I added kid-friendly sushi, a variety of Japanese sweets and treats, temporary tattoo favors, and bamboo paper straws. For my place settings, I layered adorable Karate dinner plates, black and white striped napkins, chopsticks, and red plastic forks on bamboo placemats. Each place also got a Japanese soda and a personalized water bottle.
Dessert Table
Next, as a backdrop for the dessert table, I used bamboo fencing with a red mini lantern garland strung across. Then, I crossed samurai swords in the center for a bit more drama. On the dessert table, I set out cupcakes, a cake, personalized mint tins, and some great karate favor bags of treats.
Photo Booth
Finally, in addition to a lifesized cardboard karate cut out on one side of the dessert table that’s great for photos, I also created a personalized photo booth area on the other side of the table. It included a sign with my daughter’s name on it, plus smaller cutouts with core elements and moves of martial arts.
