Of all of the travels I’ve done, one of my favorite places I’ve visited has to be Marrakesh, Morocco. I fell in love with the vibrant colors in the markets, textiles, foods, you name it. Paired with rich metallic tones, everything feels exotic and romantic. That’s why I thought it’d make the perfect wedding or bridal shower theme! Read on to see how I created a modern and bold wedding look inspired by Morocco!
An Altar Abloom
For the actual wedding ceremony I created a beautiful DIY Hanging Floral Altar at the end of an aisle of rose petals. I also set out lanterns and votive candle holders along the aisle and around the altar for warm and romantic lighting. TIP: A rattan side table painted pink placed to the side of the altar is perfect for holding any necessary ceremony items or additional decor.
Exotic Entrance
After the ceremony, guests will enter the reception area. Upon entering, they can find their seats using a gorgeous DIY Moroccan Tile Seating Chart. The seating chart sat on a table covered with lush blue fabric. Additional table decor included a variety of taper and votive candles, and more lanterns, florals, and painted palm leaves. TIP: Use gold chargers as trays to anchor table decor such as candles, florals, and vases.
Tantalizing Tables
First, I draped the center of the table with a rich magenta sari as a table runner. I then lined the runner with a variety of taper candles, lanterns, geometric terrariums, florals, and gold pedestal dishes filled with fruits. This all really gave the table the feel of a vibrant Marrakesh market.
Next, I set out metallic gold string placemats. Then, I layered on a magenta napkin and white dinner and dessert plates with elegant gold details. I added a faux dahlia for stylish place setting decor, and a cute plum colored favor box tied with magenta ribbon for each guest. Finally, I placed jewel toned wine glasses and champagne flutes and gold cutlery next to each setting.
