The first time I visited Mexico, I was blown away by the beauty of the bright and bold colors of the fiestas, or parties, of this vibrant culture. I just knew I had to bring some of that celebratory color home with me and use it to style a fiesta of my own. I love how this Fiesta Inspired Bridal Shower turned out, it is perfect for celebrating amor (love) with all of your familia y amigas (family and friends)!
P.S. I got most of my supplies from Oriental Trading, be sure to check out their selection of Fiesta party supplies! But you can also check out my Amazon Shop for similar or alternative supplies.
Decoraciones de Fiesta
First things first: the party decorations! This is where those vivid colors really come in. I used a bright color scheme of pink, yellow, coral, and teal. A variety of glass bottles filled with single dahlias made a simple and cost-effective yet beautiful table centerpiece.
DIY painted tiles made the perfect Mexican-inspired table numbers and are again a cost-effective choice. My place settings included ornate white chargers topped with colorful floral plates, coral napkins, and intricate hand fans for each guest. Colorful glassware with fun fiesta details like parasol picks and cactus tumblers, and gold flatware completed the settings.
Then, to evoke the colorful vibe of the gorgeous papel picado (perforated tissue paper decorations) abundant in Mexico’s celebrations, I tied brightly colored ribbons to each person’s chair, and created a fun DIY Hoop and Crepe Paper Backdrop. Get all of the details for how to create it HERE.
TIP: While color is the name of the decor game here, you can avoid overdoing it and prevent tackiness by using simple uncovered natural wood tables as a base.
Actividades Divertidas
Next, some fun activities to get the shower guests entertained. I created a couple of simple games on colorful floral printables and placed them in a detailed painted tray for guests to pick up on their way in. You can get the FREE printables, and the instructions for how to create the DIY Fiesta Inspired Tray HERE.
TIP: Succulents in round glass vases make the perfect addition to the activity area and bring to mind feelings of being in a Mexican desert. Cute, modern, and perfect for this fiesta theme!
Comidas y Bebidas
Finally, one of the most important parts…food and drinks! First, I created fiesta-inspired signs for my food and drink areas. Then, I set up a fun and playful Taco Bar area. Bright taco holders and salsa bowls brought pops of color to the white table.
Finally, I set up a perfect pink bar cart with Mexican sparkling water, vibrant citrus, and the most delicious Blood Orange Tequila Fizz Punch. Get the recipe HERE.
TIP: This is also a good area to hold favors. Did you know you can get alcohol-infused gummy candies?! I put these Mexican beer gummies from Sugarfina in cute little yellow bags with personalized pink labels for each of my guests. They no longer have this specific variety, but you can find equally-appropriate Mexican tequila-infused gummies here.
