Back when I was growing up 21st birthdays were huge! The other thing that was huge, velvet. I wore a full velvet suit to my 21st (yikes!). I absolutely loved it and I absolutely love that this lush fabric is back in fashion and very much on trend for weddings. It will effortlessly transform your wedding reception, adding a warm, stylish vibe regardless of the season; and it looks great in any color palette! Velvet is a gorgeous textural element you can incorporate into your wedding in a variety of different ways.
The first area where velvet shines is on the table. I used a teal velvet runner for both the dessert table and the reception tables. The warmth of the velvet pairs so well with the cool concrete of the LOVE centerpiece and the warm tones of the copper cake stand.
Velvet ribbon is another simple way to accent wedding decor. From table setting cutlery ties to strips of ribbon on a floral hoop to hold name cards. Find out how to make this gorgeous hoop seating chart HERE.
My favorite part of the wedding to incorporate velvet, sweet bridal party accents such as this floral flower girl hoop. The hoop is so much easier for the flower girl to hold and the velvet pops against the flowers.
