Transform your home into a spellbinding sight this Halloween with a bewitching entryway! A witch-themed entrance sets the tone for a spooky and enchanting celebration, perfect for welcoming trick-or-treaters or guests. Read on for my ideas on how you can create a haunting Witch-Themed Halloween home entryway that will leave everyone spellbound.
How to Set up a Witch-Themed Halloween Home Entryway
P.S. I got most of my supplies from Oriental Trading, and you can find many of them on my LTK posts HERE and HERE.
Witchy Welcome
First, I set up “Welcome Witches” banners on either side of the entry area of my home. I embellished the nearby walls with flying decorations, and then created a spooky Witch Welcome committee using life-sized with and skeleton props.
I dressed the skeleton in witch gear, and gave her a skeleton cat to sit on her lap.
Hang your Hats
To the side of the entrance, I created a fun space that looked like an area where previous witch guests had hung their witch hats and cloaks, and stored their brooms. A sign on the wall next to this area read “The Witches Inn”.
On the ground next to the hanging witch clothes, I placed some black lanterns and a black cat guard to keep an eye on the witches’ belongings.
Set the Spooky Scene
Once guests step inside the entryway, I wanted them to be surrounded by spooky symbols and witchy wonders. In one corner of the room, I hung more bats and a skull wreath on the wall, and then decorated a small cabinet with black spiderweb cloth and all sorts of props a witch would use. I draped some similar black fabric over the light to create a more creepy ambiance, and then set up two cauldrons full of skulls and bones in front of the cabinet.
One of my favorite decorations I used was a black crow prop standing on a glass cloche that I filled with faux moss, some dried fruits, and a couple of stacked skulls. Not everything witch-themed has to be dark and black. Adding some pops of color brings more dimension to the décor.
Add More Witchy Wonders
In another corner of the room I set up another table with a variety of witch-themed props and decorations. Above this one, I used a small broom hung horizontally on the wall to hang photos, black and purple flowers, feathers, and parchments with witchy spells on them.
The old photos and papers helped to add an antique feel to the room.
Dried plants, fruits, and wood elements, along with amber potion bottles, really made the area look like a witch’s lair.
By adding these eerie elements, your entryway will bewitch all who dare to enter. Get ready for a hauntingly good Halloween!
