Sometimes the traditional formal wedding style does not cater to a more modern, more casual urban couple. In these cases, a unique venue can change things up and add a masculine element to balance out the traditionally feminine bridal elements of a wedding. With this in mind, and with the help of Oriental Trading and Great Notions Brewery NW here in Portland, I set up a Craft Brewery Wedding perfect for the craft beer-loving couple!
A Warm Welcome
To keep with the industrial setting of the brewery, I created a sign out of a wooden pallet to welcome guests as they walked in. A little paint in a balanced navy and gold color scheme and a fun pun turned the pallet into the perfect warm craft brewery welcome. I then set up a Craft Brewery Wedding Seating Chart which utilized beer openers that doubled as favors for each guest. Find out how to create your own HERE.
Tables for Tasting
I kept the table setting fairly simple to match the clean and simple brewery vibe. The place settings were set on navy and gold geometric slat placemats. I used basic square clear plates and smaller round wooden plates to complement the woodgrain of the brewery tables. Gold cutlery, navy napkins, and plenty of pint glasses for beer and water completed my place settings. The final touch was to add beer coaster place cards and a tasting journal to each setting, so that guests could keep track of their favorite beers!
Then, I used basic kraft paper as a table runner, and set out two flights of craft beers from the brewery to start the tasting! Growlers filled with beautiful blooms combined masculine and feminine decor perfectly. Finally, in the very center of my tables, I added Craft Beer DIY Centerpieces that not only held the table numbers, but looked like part of the tasting themselves. Get the details for how to create the centerpieces HERE.
The Crafty Snack Table
Salty snacks are the perfect pair to craft beer. For my snack table, I used empty six-pack boxes and cute cardboard snack boxes to hold salty chips and popcorn. However, the show-stopping snack of the evening had to be the pretzels! I set up an entire pretzel bar, complete with all sorts of toppings. To make the table even more spectacular, I hung pretzels from a homemade copper pipe stand using shower hooks! Then, to make sure guests knew all of this show was for their munching – I made Acrylic and Cork bar signage that complemented the seating chart from the entrance. You can find instructions for making your own signage HERE.
Love will certainly be brewing at this Craft Brewery Wedding. You can get all the additional details to create it on Fun365 at Oriental Trading.
